DoneWaiting.com interviewed me about the design work I’ve done with Fela and beyond. Check it!
I made this poster for Distiller Promo for their highly anticipated CMJ showcase. I was asked what it means and I replied “look at it with these weird 3D glasses I have and then you’ll know”.
Here’s some posters Kayrock screened for us. Its the cover of Fela Kuti’s Zombie (one of my favorite records from him). I photo retouched the album from a scan I made of an old record that was pretty beat up. What makes this one extra special is this one is signed by Lemi Ghariokwu who made the original art back in the 70’s.
Made this flier for the upcoming Night Beats show at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.
I KNOW MY GEOGRAPHY… I OWN A GLOBE…
I designed the logo on the left for a swell company called OkayAfrica a while back as an icon for their social media sites. Recently they notified me that someone had written them saying the continent of Africa was not fully represented because Madagascar was missing. They then realized it was not and I made this image in response to the complainer.
THE WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY HALLOWMAS 2012 POSTER:
Just finished the design for this year’s Hallowmas with World/Inferno.
T2: “No More White Horses”
This is a song from T2’s 1970 album “It’ll All Work Out In Boomland” (definitely one of my all time favorite records and a textbook example of an “album” and not just a bunch of songs on a piece of vinyl). This one is a scorcher that gallops along a Black Sabbath road making stops off to relax with Kevin Ayers and get some Zappa for momentum before colliding into a wall of noise.
Choice cut from the vault of music that should have never been forgotten.
